I realized when I had to learn about Medicare that I had NEVER had to think about health insurance before.  For years I had it through my husband’s work, and later I had my own through my employer.  All I had to do was take my card to the right place and get care.  I never had to think about actually getting the insurance or what it covered or cost.  When I started researching I realized that I didn’t have even the basic knowledge I needed to make a good choice.  I’m an art teacher, not a insurance professional. 

I was deluged with advertisements on Facebook for Medicare agents and advisors.  I went to several webinars and there was one that stood out as honest and straightforward.  Mike Keating’s.  After I watched his webinar I wrote to him and asked a few questions.  He was quick to answer and obviously had carefully considered my questions.  I have had several phone conversations with him.  Each time he referred to the unique situations that I had shared with him about my coverage and he took all of that information into account with his recommendations. 

As we moved forward, scheduling phone conversations to finalize my policies, he was prompt, professional, and at the same time friendly and open.  I am a perfectionist and a procrastinator which can be a problem when time-sensitive things like this are concerned. His promptness and thoroughness brought me through the process without panic.  I feel good about the choices he helped me make and look forward to a continued relationship as we review my coverage each fall.
